Observatory Training
Undergraduate course, University of Warwick, Department of Physics, 2024
Training students and staff to use the Tom Marsh Observatory.
Tom Marsh Observatory (TMO)
The TMO is the University of Warwick’s on-campus observatory, featuring a modern building with two domes, one housing a 16” Meade Cassegrain telescope, and another housing a heliostat.
During the final years of my PhD I trained students from the university astronomy society to operate the 16” telescope. This included training on how to plan and execute observations, how to safely start and stop the telescope control systems, and basic data reduction.
